The technical and economic research is to develop the concept of the biogas plant using by-products and wastewater from production in the factories based on the processing of sugar beet. And also the exact technological aspects of the biogas plant were presented. The subject of study on working biogas plant was carried out on the basic information from some of a Polish Sugar Plant and fulfilled by literature. Industrial assumptions are presented, such as raw materials for biogas production, currently owned technical infrastructure and land development. The concept of biogas plant installation with division into individual objects is presented. The purpose of this article was to develop the economic analysis for biogas plant working at sugar factory and to show the energy balances and material and then calculated the main economic indicators such as Cash Flow (CF), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Discounted Payback Period (DPP). It was found that the biogas plant operating at a sugar factory can be a profitable investment and DPP amounted to 4 years. However, these results are estimates and in reality they may changed.

Biofuels is a good replacement of petroleum fuels. Biogas can be used in I.C engine, because of its better mixing ability with air and clean burning nature. The present study was conducted on rice bran oil methyl ester as a pilot fuel and biogas as a dual fuel used in C.I engine. The blends B20, B40, and B60 of rice bran methyl ester used as an injected fueland biogas were inducted through the intake manifold. The different flow rates of biogas in which diesel used as pilot fuel were also compared with diesel. The results show that the performance characteristics of dual fuel mode for all blends of biodiesel is higher than diesel at higher loads on fixed and dual fuel mode different flow rates of biogas. The results also show that the emissions such as carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) of dual fuel mode B40 are less than that of engine fuelled with other blends. Dual fuel mode the flow rate of 3.1kg/hr. gives better emissions than 4.48kg/hr,3.72kg/hr. Oxygen (O2) emissions are more than that of diesel fuel in both cases dual fuel mode using a biodiesel blends having a fixed flow rate of biogas.

Assessment of potential drivers and barriers in biogas technology adoption as an alternative energy sources has recently become crucial and attractive due to the increasing demand for energy, the limited resource for buying fossil fuel and the environmental concerns. The Ethiopian domestic energy sector relies on a limited range of energy resources with a highest share being biomass that has brought substantial impact on the environment. Although Ethiopia is known by its large livestock resource potential, the level of manure resource utilization in this regard is very low. Overall, over 95 %of the domestic energy needs are met from biomass- based fuels thereby contributing to deforestation, loss of soil nutrients, and organic matter. However, so far, very limited studies were conducted in the area of rural energy in Ethiopia, specifically limited study has been conducted concerning the impacts, drivers and barriers of biogas technology on rural households. However, they did not asses the economic impact, and driving and constraining factors of the technology. Therefore, there is information gap on the benefit of biogas, its drivers and barriers on the study area.

Management of organic waste is one among the most pressing environmental issues in most urban and semi-urban areas of the developing world. Unscientific land filling of municipal solid wastes is one of the important causes for environmental degradation and in a big way contribute to global warming. Households constitute the most basic unit in urban energy consumption and waste generation. Under this scenario, conversion of domestic organic waste into a green fuel, using biogas technology has a huge scope for mitigation of Green House Gas emissions. Like the conventional biogas plants, the portable biogas plants were not so far studied and evaluated extensively. Considering the high relevance of the portable domestic biogas plants, four types of portable biogas plants viz. Floating gas holder type without water seal, Floating gas holder type with water seal, Fixed gas holder type and KAU Portable split biogas plant were evaluated in the present study. The KAU Portable split biogas plant, exhibited superior performance with the other biogas plants used in the study. The kitchen waste had a biogas production potential of 58 L/L and 989.05 L/kgTS of organic wastes.
